1. The First thing you should know about Zone Alarm is the slider control, which can quickly fix most connection problems. It’s found under Firewall then select Main. Sometimes the HIGH setting stops internet access. Change it from HIGH to medium and see if that resolves your loss of internet activity.
2. The Second thing to know about Zone Alarm is that it can really tighten the screws to Windows to the point that Windows will lose it’s internet connection or even crash. Too quickly diagnose the issue I recommend that you turn on all the logging features. This feedback will allow you to see what and why something you have lost internet connection.
You can also select “check all” and then apply.
In the Log Viewer you can now see that things are being blocked. There are 4 different logs in ZA. The two you want to pay attention to are Firewall and Programs. You can also set how items are shown, usually 25 to 50 are enough.
Also under Program control > main if you click advanced there are 5 more items that can be logged.
